Taylor, Jonovic, White, Gendron & Kircher-Echarte, South Florida's largest locally owned and independently operated court reporting firm, was founded in 1977 by Craig Taylor and Tom Jonovic, specializing in complex litigation. In 1996, the firm expanded through a merger with Danny White's long established and reputable local court reporting firm. In 1997, Dale Gendron, managing partner in another prestigious Miami court reporting firm, brought to us his thirty+ years of office management and airline and major litigation experience. In March of 2005, TJWG merged with Florida Realtime, a premiere realtime oriented court reporting firm, based in Fort Lauderdale.
The firm presently has an associate staff of 25 well-qualified, time-proven, carefully-screened, and technologically-advanced court reporters, dedicated to accuracy, timeliness and professionalism.
Specialists in instant copy production, TJWG was chosen to report the Norma Broin v. Philip Morris landmark Secondhand Tobacco Smoke trial, filed by 60,000 flight attendants. TJWG reporters produced over 4 months of hourly, certified copy to the parties, amounting to 16,528 pages of extremely complex medical/scientific terminology.
In July 1998, Taylor Jonovic was hired to provide "advanced realtime" and instant hard copy in the Florida class action case involving hundreds of thousands of Florida smokers suing the tobacco industry, in a case styled Howard A. Engle, et al., v. RJ Reynolds, et al., amassing over almost 58,000 realtimed, instant copy, certified daily trial transcripts, while sending live realtime transcript feeds to multiple laptops and flat panel screens located throughout the courtroom. The trial ended in July 2000, and has been termed the longest civil trial in American History. The award of $145,000,000,000 is the largest jury award ever. The appeal transcript was delivered within one hour of the final verdict!
Since its formation, the firm has aggressively pioneered the use of newly emerging technologies in litigation support and innovative service products by providing computer-aided transcription, advanced realtime reporting, transcript condensing, instant Steno-to-English translation for hearing-impaired clients and, affordable videoconferencing and, most recently, in-house,broadcast quality, text/video synchronization applications and trial presentation consultation.
